Willie Ty's is owned and operated by the Turner family who moved to the wonderful city of Sun Prairie in 2003. After 12 years Sun Prairie is now considered home. In 1992, Kelly Turner had a baby boy named Christian William Turner that came in at a whopping 9 pounds 5 ounces. Because of his enormous size, Christian's mom, Kelly, soon nicknamed him Wilbur after the pig in "Charlotte's Web." Wilbur then changed to Willie because of Christian's middle name, which stuck with him until this day. Steve Turner, known around Sun Prairie as Ty Ty, grew up on the south side of Milwaukee where he began to love food through his mother and grandmother's cooking. Ty Ty brought Willie into the kitchen for the first time to help him cook Thanksgiving Dinner in 2005. That day was the starting point of Willie's love for the culinary arts. Willie's passion for the food stuck with him all through high school and he was fortunate enough to be accepted to the Culinary Institute of America in New York where he spend four years. After graduating and a leap of faith from Ty Ty, Willie Ty's Eatery was created. We want to welcome you to our new age American Pub, home of the "Gooey Louie" stuffed burgers and Griddled Cheese sandwiches!
